First Student Exchange to Partner University CSUF

Assoc. Prof. Ying-Chiao Tsao of California State University Fullerton (CSUF), together with eight students, visited Tzu Chi University in May 2016. Impressed by Tzu Chi’s education philosophy of imparting humanitarian values with professional knowledge, Tzu Chi University and California State University Fullerton inked the status of partner universities at the end of 2016.

On 11 Feb 2018, Assist. Prof Alex Tan and nine students returned the visit by undergoing a two weeks exchange program at California State University Fullerton and were warmly welcome by Prof. HyeKyeung Seung, Chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

During the welcoming speech, Prof. Seung and Assoc. Prof. Tsao mentioned that Hualien experienced an earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale on 6 Feb 2018 and expressed their condolences to the deceased. In addition, student volunteers from CSUF presented a sign-language performance of Tzu Chi Song “Love and Care for All”, sending encouragements and well wishes to everyone back in Hualien.
